Siam Park: how to have the best day
The order to ride, when fast pass is worth it, and the twin ticket with Loro Parque.
Siam Park in Tenerife is consistently rated the best water park in the world, and a day there is the highlight of many Canary Islands holidays. A few things make it much better.
Go at opening
The park opens at 10am and the first two hours are when the big slides have short queues. By midday in summer the Tower of Power and Singha can hit forty-five minutes. Do the thrill slides first, the lazy river and wave pool in the afternoon.
What to ride
- Tower of Power: a 28-metre near-vertical drop that passes through a shark and ray aquarium. The one everyone talks about.
- Singha: a water coaster with uphill launches, the most fun slide in the park.
- The Dragon: a raft ride into a huge funnel.
- Mekong Rapids and Naga Racer: the family favourites.
- Mai Thai River: the world's longest lazy river, which winds through the whole park including an aquarium tunnel.
- Siam Beach: a wave pool with waves up to three metres. Surf lessons run in the mornings.
Fast pass and the deluxe ticket
On peak days the fast pass is worth it; the all-inclusive deluxe ticket bundles it with unlimited food and drink and is often better value than buying both. Off-peak, the standard ticket is fine.
Practical
Lockers and towels are rented; bring your own towels. Water shoes help on hot paths. The park's free bus runs from Los Cristianos, Las Américas and Costa Adeje. Children under three are free; there is a good toddler area, The Lost City.
Siam Nights
Evening sessions in summer with the park lit up and DJ sets. A different atmosphere and much cooler; worth doing once.
The twin ticket
If Loro Parque is on your list, the twin ticket covering both is meaningfully cheaper than two singles. They are owned by the same family and it is the standard buy for a Tenerife week.
