Siam Park in Costa Adeje, Tenerife, is regularly voted the best water park in the world, and it earns it. The Tower of Power is a near-vertical drop through a shark tank; Singha is a water coaster; the Mai Thai lazy river runs through the whole park; the wave pool produces surfable waves. The Thai theming is complete, down to the buildings and the plants.
The one-day ticket is the basic buy. The twin ticket with Loro Parque is the popular choice for a week's holiday. The all-inclusive deluxe adds fast pass and unlimited food and drink, which on a peak day is the difference between queuing and swimming. Siam Nights are evening sessions in summer.
Book a date. It is a ten-minute drive from Playa de las Américas and a free bus runs from the main resorts. Lockers and towels are extra. Go at opening; by noon in August the big slides have forty-minute queues.
