Ninety minutes of live actors, sets and two small rides taking you through a thousand years of London's grisly history: the plague, Sweeney Todd, Jack the Ripper, the Great Fire. It is theatre more than museum, and the actors are good.
Teenagers and adults who enjoy being made to jump. Merlin recommends age twelve and over; younger children can find it frightening. It is on the South Bank next to the London Eye and SEA LIFE.
Timed entry, book ahead for weekends. Combos with the Eye and Tussauds are cheaper if you want more than one. Allow for the shop at the end, which children never walk past.
Great fun for the right age. Not for under-tens.
