Disneyland Paris by Eurostar
Train options, timings, where to stay and which ticket fits a weekend by rail.
The easiest way to reach Disneyland Paris from Britain is by train, and the direct service has changed over the years, so here is the current picture and how to plan around it.
Direct or via Paris
Eurostar runs from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord in about two hours twenty. The direct St Pancras to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy service, which stopped at the park's own station, was withdrawn; check the Eurostar site for the current status, because it has been discussed for reinstatement. From Gare du Nord, the RER A from Châtelet–Les Halles takes forty minutes to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, whose exit is a hundred metres from the park gates. The whole journey door to door is about four hours, which beats flying once you count the airport.
Tickets and timing
Book Eurostar three to six months ahead for the cheapest fares; the price can triple close to travel. Children under four travel free without a seat. Morning departures get you into the park by lunchtime on day one, which makes a two-day ticket feel like two and a half.
Which park ticket
For a Friday-to-Sunday weekend, the two-day ticket for the Saturday and Sunday with a Friday evening arrival works well. For a longer break, the three-day ticket lets you take the first day slowly after the journey. Tickets are dated, so book the train first and the park second, and remember the seller lets you cancel park tickets up to three days before.
Where to stay
The Disney hotels on site give you early access to the parks in the morning, which matters for Frozen Ever After. Val d'Europe, one stop back on the RER, has cheaper hotels and a large shopping centre, and the station-to-park journey is five minutes. Staying in central Paris and commuting is possible but adds an hour and a half a day.
Luggage
Disney hotels will hold bags on arrival and departure day. The park has left-luggage lockers by the station for day visitors. Pack light; the RER is not built for suitcases at rush hour.
A note on the journey home
Allow two hours at Gare du Nord for the return, as passport control and security for Eurostar can be slow on Sunday evenings. A late-afternoon train gives you a final park morning without stress.
