Why UK tickets beat the gate price in Orlando
The UK-exclusive tickets do not exist in the US. What they include and what it would cost otherwise.
British visitors sometimes assume tickets bought in Florida must be cheaper than tickets bought at home. For Orlando's big parks, the opposite is true, and by a wide margin. Here is why.
The UK-exclusive tickets do not exist in the US
Disney sells its 7-Day and 14-Day Magic Tickets only through UK and Irish channels, to residents, before travel. A US visitor buying fourteen days of park hopper at the gate would pay more than double, and would still have to buy Memory Maker and water park entry separately. Universal's fourteen-day park-to-park ticket is the same story: the US equivalent is a five-day ticket at a higher price. SeaWorld's fourteen-day three-park ticket with free parking is likewise a UK product.
What the gate price actually is
A single-day, single-park Magic Kingdom ticket in peak season costs around $190 plus tax. Park Hopper adds $65 or more. Memory Maker is $210. Fourteen days of that is not a fair comparison because nobody would buy it, but a US five-day park hopper alone costs more than the UK 14-day ticket.
What the UK ticket includes that you would pay for
- Park Hopper: $65 to $100 per person per day in the US.
- Memory Maker: $210 per account.
- Water park admission: $75 per person per day.
- Universal park-to-park: $60 or more per day.
- SeaWorld parking: about $30 per day.
Deposits and instalments
The UK sellers let you hold tickets for a small deposit and pay the balance later, and offer buy-now-pay-later at checkout. Gate purchases are cash or card in full.
The one thing the UK ticket does not include
Lightning Lane and Express Pass. Those are per-day products bought in the apps whether you are British or American. Budget for them separately.
Which UK seller
There are two, FloridaTix and AttractionTix, and they are brands of the same company that price independently. On the day we wrote this, the same 14-Day Magic Ticket was £63 apart. That is where we come in: every ticket on this site shows both prices.
